Quadruple Homicide is Crime Stoppers 'Crime of the Week'
The Paris/Lamar County Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week is the quadruple homicide that occurred the night of Oct. 9, 2013, in a residence at 435 NE 6th St. in Paris.
The bodies of Brijonne Woods, Romello Steward, Devante Akins and Billy Carey were discovered when Paris police officers responded shortly before midnight on that Wednesday to a report of a shooting at that residence.
A preliminary investigation and autopsies confirmed that all died as a result of gunshots.
“Despite the three months since the murders, police have yet to make an arrest and are continuing to ask for the public’s assistance,” said police officer Curtis Garrett, the coordinator for the Paris/Lamar County Crime Stoppers program.
Officers are confident there are uninvolved parties who have knowledge of the person or persons responsible for these murders, Garrett said.
“Detectives encourage anyone with any degree of knowledge about these murders or knowledge of the person or persons responsible to contact Lamar County Crime Stoppers,” he said.
All tips received through Crime Stoppers will forwarded to the detectives, and tipsters will not be asked for their name.
If the information leads to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible, the tipster could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 with anonymity guaranteed.
Persons with information about this or any other felony crime can contact Crime Stoppers 24 hours a day, seven days a week in four ways:
