Yesterday, May 22nd, Paris Police arrested 45 year old Rodney Earl Rosson of Paris at about 6:44 pm when officers responded to the 500 block of NE 17 St in reference to a suspicious person.
The caller said that she was inside her residence and was awoken by Rosson screaming outside her residence. Officers determined that Rosson was very intoxicated and placed him under arrest.
Officers then located a grocery sack in Rosson’s possession that contained numerous prescription pills that Rosson did not have a prescription for. Rosson was also charged with four counts of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance and one count of possession of a dangerous drug. Mr. Rosson was booked into the city jail.
Paris Police also received information that an unoccupied stolen vehicle was in the 1100 block of SE 23rd St. Officers also had information that the suspect in the theft of the vehicle, James David Pickle, was using the vehicle at night.
The vehicle was later stopped in the 2400 block of Culbertson St. and Pickle was found to be the driver. Pickle was arrested on three felony theft warrants out of the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department. Pickle was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
The Paris Police Department responded to 113 calls for service and arrested seven people on Thursday, May 22, 2014.
