While responding to a burglar alarm call, a Paris police officer was struck by a vehicle while attempting to pass through an intersection, according to Paris PD spokesman, Curtis Garrett.

The officer’s patrol vehicle was overturned in the accident.

“While utilizing the patrol unit’s emergency lights and siren, the officer attempted to pass through the intersection at the southeast corner of the plaza,” Garrett said. “The officer was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound from the 100 block of W. Grand Avenue.”

There were no injuries to the occupants of either vehicle and the investigation continues, Garrett said.
