The first occurred just before 10:00 P.M. on Friday night. Fire department crews from all three stations responded to 1460 N.E. 10th street and found the structure to be engulfed in flames.
The fire destroyed approximately 50% of the structure with the remaining damage caused by heat, smoke and water. The unoccupied structure was found to be vacant with no utilities connected to the structure.
The Paris Fire Department also responded to a second structure fire early Sunday morning just before 6:00 A.M. located at 255 NW 27th street. When responding units arrived on scene they found the unoccupied home on to be on fire. Fire department crews quickly brought the fire under control. There was no one at home when fire crews arrived but freighters were able save a small dog found in the home while battling the blaze. Firefighters were able to save most of the home. The fire destroyed a bedroom and heavily damaged the roof above the fire. The rest of the home received major heat and smoke damage.
The Paris Police Department responded and provided traffic control and scene security. Also responding was the Paris EMS to provide medical help if the needed.
The cause of both fire are under investigation at this time.
