Last Saturday night, at about 11:24 P.M., Officer Palmore and Officer Crawford stopped a vehicle in the 3900 block of Bonham St for a traffic violation. During the investigation, 35 year old Mitzi Elaine Black of Paris was found to be in possession of a small amount of Methamphetamine and was placed under arrest. The driver, 32 year old Bruce Jay Larkin was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Paris Jail and Larkin was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, December 29, at about 5:16am, the Paris Police responded to the 600 block of Bonham Street and met with the driver of a cab. The driver reported that he had picked up two young black males in the Northeast part of town and drove them to a convenient store to purchase cigarettes. The males then asked to be taken to George Wright Homes. When the males started exiting the vehicle, they asked how much the fare was and the male in the front passenger seat displayed a pistol and demanded all of the driver’s money. The driver stated that he told the male that he did not have any money and rapidly accelerated from the scene. No one was hurt during the incident and the investigastion continues.
On December 26, 2013, at about 11:55 P.M., Paris Police officers attempted to serve misdemeanor theft warrants on two subjects in the 1000 block of SE 8th street. When the mother of the two subjects answered the door she initially told the police that they were not at home. However, the officer observed one of the wanted subjects inside the house and placed 43 year old Vickie Kay Tyson under arrest, charing her with hindering apprehension or prosecution of the wanted persons. Both wanted subjects, 23 year old Randyael Dontrell Tyson and 20 year old Kimber Sanders Tyson were located inside the residence and arrested on misdemeanor theft warrants.
