When Paris police officers responded Monday to a report of an accident in the 600 block of Northeast 2nd Street, they found that a maroon Chevrolet had veered off the roadway, striking a utility pole.
The driver of the vehicle could not be located, police department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.
About two hours later, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Jackson Street, where the owner of the vehicle wanted to report it had been stolen.
The incident is under investigation.
Garrett said Paris police responded on Tuesday to 106 calls for service, resulting in four arrests, all on Class C misdemeanors.
