Santa’s got a little house set up on the Plaza for kids to come visit. But, as we all know, he’s a busy guy. But don’t worry: In case he’s not in when you want to drop off your letter, the city has installed a mailbox just outside the hut.
“It’s for Christmas letters to Santa,” said Main Street Coordinator Cheri Bedford. “In case Santa’s not in the hut, children still have an opportunity to deliver a letter to him.”
It’s a red mailbox sitting on the porch. And just to make sure Santa sees them, eParis Extra! will print the letters online. Even Santa has broadband these days.
Santa’s Hut will be open on the Plaza from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and after the parade until 9 p.m. Saturday. Next weekend, the hut will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. both Dec. 9 and 10.

Mrs. Archer’s high school Culinary Arts class received sanitation training and wanted to share with Mrs. Sanders first grade class the importance of washing their hands. The students made a list of when to wash their hands and demonstrated how, by singing Happy Birthday 2 times with Jake playing the guitar. The first graders were rewarded with hand sanitizer and new mittens to wear in the cold weather in our school colors of red and black. The high school kids certified the first graders with certificates of achievement from Paws for Santa Claus and left a coloring sheet to see who would color the best. Thanks Mrs. Sanders for sharing your kids and time with the Culinary Arts students.
Culinary Arts students shown are:
Metz Branch, Jake Rowland, Caleb Young, Chelsea Arnold, Chelsea Musick, Kindyl Parks
